Hereafter is a cinematic inquiry into the transition of the spirit, utilizing the iconography of James Dean to explore the thin veil between legacy and the ephemeral.

The 2023 Archive Loss: This work represents a pivotal moment in Montoute’s 10-year studio practice. It was part of a major body of work lost during a trailer heist during the artist's relocation from Macon, Georgia, to Kansas City. Its current location remains a matter of historical record, and it serves as a cornerstone of the artist's early "Georgia Years" portfolio.
