Kookaburra is a central work in the Rōstrum Reframed series, an inquiry into survival, displacement, and human dignity. Using the language of personification, the work draws symbolic parallels between the transient lifestyle of birds and the precarious nature of chronic street homelessness in the urban core.
The piece is constructed through a process of 'building and dissolving' layers, utilizing oil, charcoal, and natural stains like coffee to mirror the cycles of endurance that define life on the margins.
